Scottish–African Tasting Dinner

Edinburgh Sunday 19th October – This Black History Month, two chefs whose paths have intertwined over the years will reunite in the kitchen for one unforgettable evening, joined by a special guest from South Africa. Chef Dan Ashmore, once the mentor; Chef Tunde Abifarin, his former protégé; and Louis Boutinot, Export Manager for Waterkloof Estate and False Bay Vineyards, are coming together for a five-course Scottish–African tasting dinner at Kuba at Edinburgh Printmakers — celebrating mentorship, friendship, and the enduring ties between Scottish and African cultures.
The tasting menu will showcase the vibrancy of African flavours harmonised with the soul of Scottish produce. Each course will be paired with some of South Africa’s finest wines, curated by Louis Boutinot, who brings the story and philosophy of Waterkloof Estate and False Bay Vineyards to the table. The wines reflect site-specific, minimal-intervention, organic and biodynamic winemaking, complementing the menu and celebrating African craftsmanship.
